• SpaceY 2025 is the world's first 'play-to-earn' blockchain-based triple-A tower defense game with NFTs. Its story is about building and defending a human settlement on Mars. The 3D sandbox game offers an open and rich gameplay experience as well as numerous opportunities for players to earn money while playing. Players can trade NFT-based Martian goods - such as land, buildings, towers and ores - with other players or sell them to them in the SpaceY 2025 marketplace.

Responsibilities Include:

• Partner with existing blockchain contract engineers & partners to execute on the product roadmap related to NFTs and crypto tokens.

• Develop the architectural framework to integrate across across multiple blockchain technologies (web 3 wallets, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum, Layer 2 scaling solutions, decentralized storage, etc) & traditional gaming & operational systems

• Contribute to our long-term technical and product strategy around next generation metaverses and crypto-centric economies

• Facilitate short-term prioritization and long-term planning to meet ambitious growth goals

• Make data-driven but informed decisions to help the team meet goals efficiently

• Encourage the engineering team to follow best practices and to deliver high-quality work

• Build an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative culture where everyone does their best work

• Recruit & develop a team of blockchain engineers to work at the intersection of gaming and crypto

Qualifications:

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science or another field involving programming (e.g. mathematics, physics)

• 10+ years experience in software/infrastructure/high throughput systems

• 5+ years experience in people management experience on an engineering team

• 2+ years experience with blockchain technologies (smart contracts, mining, staking, track record of cross-functional collaboration and successful outcomes

• Managed teams at startups, especially through rapid growth and change

• (Preferred) First-hand experience working on NFTs & the Ethereum blockchain

Bonus Points:

• Experience in both Blockchain and Gaming

• Deep interest in multiple facets of crypto—different protocols, dApps, stablecoins, CBDCs, DeFi, NFTs and more

• 10 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in blockchain

• Good understanding of Blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts and tokens

• Good understanding of different types of blockchains such as public, private/permissioned, etc.

• Good understanding of various consensus mechanisms used in permissioned or permissionless networks such as proof of work, proof of stake and Byzantine fault tolerance, as well as different scaling and Layer2 solutions

• Good understanding of cryptographic solutions such as certificates for identity management and key-based authentication of users, assets etc

• Ability to architect and design blockchain networks and the applications needed to manage and interact with them.

• Experience with database architecture and design to create storage solutions for managing distributed ledger and related data/state in files/database system

• Proficient with one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, NodeJS
